Tom Blanford and his wife Allison are life-long residents of Cedar Falls and graduates of the Cedar Falls School District. Tom graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Law.

Tom’s career is centered in the financial industry, with twelve years of banking experience focusing primarily in lending and business development. He currently works as the commercial banking manager for Collins Credit Union in Cedar Falls.
Commitment to Community
Tom is committed to giving back to his community, serving with a number of organizations, including the Board of Directors for the Cedar Valley United Way and the Cedar Bend Humane Society. He is also the President of the Rotary Club of the Cedar Valley and has worked with many organizations in our community including: the Cedar Falls Lions Club, the College Hill Partnership, the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, and the Greater Cedar Valley Alliance and Chamber.
In addition, Tom served three years on the Cedar Falls Human Rights Commission, working with businesses and residents to create a stronger community. Tom was appointed Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Cedar Falls in 2018 and reappointed in 2019.
Tom is looking forward to serving the residents of Ward 4 and all of Cedar Falls. He states, “as we continue to grow it is essential that we work together to achieve our goals and take Cedar Falls to the next level of success.
