Downtown Streetscape and Reconstruction Project- The contractor has tied over the watermain connections and will continue setting the storm sewer structures along W 4th Street. Work along the west side of the 300 block portion of the parkade is continuing next week, with the electrical contractor working on the conduit installation. The concrete amenity pads will begin next week.

West 1st Street/HWY 57 Expansion- Beginning June 2, the Iowa DOT's contractor, PCI, will be continuing with construction on W. 1st Street/HWY 57 by reconstructing the southeastern corner of the Hudson Road intersection and also continuing with work on the south side of HWY 57 between Hudson Road and Francis Street. In order for the contractor to begin, a full closure of the adjacent lanes will be required until paving is complete. East & Westbound traffic on HWY 57 and North & Southbound traffic on Hudson Road will be maintained throughout construction. This construction will result in restricted turning movements at the Hudson Road intersection. Trailered vehicles should choose alternative routes to avoid turning at the intersection. The lane closures for this phase will be in effect for approximately one month, depending on the weather.
