[ARCHIVED] City of Cedar Falls Focused on Safety and Use of Alternative Routes This Holiday Season
With the upcoming holiday shopping season, the City of Cedar Falls would like to remind citizens and visitors to use caution during their travels. With several new businesses open on the Highway 58 corridor, traffic volume is expected to increase from previous years. Citizens are also encouraged to use alternative routes to reach their destinations.
On November 21st at 9:00 AM, Prairie Parkway opened for traffic. This new road connects Greenhill Road to all retails stores and restaurants on Viking Road. Travelers are encouraged to use Prairie Parkway as an alternate to Highway 58 to reach their shopping destinations. Other possible alternative routes are Hudson Road to Viking Road and Cedar Heights Drive to Viking Road. Prairie Parkway can be accessed 6/10ths of a mile east of Highway 58 on Greenhill Road and just west of Menard’s on Viking Road.
