All members of the community are encouraged to view the drafted Imagine College Hill! Vision Plan available online at www.ourcedarfalls.com and complete the public survey to share their comments and questions.
The plan includes suggestions that were gathered from the community during the online Design Charrette Week which was held in October 2020 as well as the kick-off event in January 2020. These events invited citizens to give their feedback on the future of the College Hill area including suggestions and ideas on topics such as walkability and the size, scale, and character of new developments.
The public survey is available online at www.ourcedarfalls.com until March 10. Residents can continue to submit any questions or comments regarding the plan to michelle.pezley@cedarfalls.com following the conclusion of the survey.
On March 10, 2021, the Planning and Zoning Commission will hold initial discussion and set a formal public hearing for March 24, 2021. Citizens can attend either meeting at City Hall where COVID-19 precautions will be in place including the use of a mask by all those entering the building and social distancing markers. Due to social distancing, seating in the Council Chambers will be limited. These meetings will also be available via videoconference. To get agenda and access information, visit www.cedarfalls.com/pzcommission.
The Commission is expected to make their recommendations on March 24. This new draft will subsequently be available for citizen viewing at www.ourcedarfalls.com beginning March 29.
After the Planning and Zoning Commission makes a recommendation, City Council will consider the Vision Plan. Announcements of dates will be posted in the future. The official Vision Plan will then be used to update the policies and zoning tools for the College Hill and surrounding areas to help shape and grow it into the future.
