The City of Waterloo and their contractor are continuing work on the reconstruction of the University Avenue Reconstruction Project Phases 1, 2, and 3 from Midway Drive to Hwy 63. Below is how this will impact Cedar Falls starting the week of March 15, 2021:
Phase 2 (Midway Drive to Greenhill Road) – Beginning March 15, University Avenue traffic will have lane closures from Access B (Tunis) to Access A (Casey’s Gas) for reconstruction work.

Phase 1 (Greenhill Road to Ansborough Avenue) – University Avenue traffic will continue to have lane closures as needed for minor work.

Phase 3 (Ansborough Avenue to Hwy 63) – Beginning March 15, University Avenue traffic will have lane closures from east of Fletcher Avenue to west of Hwy 63/Sergeant Road for bridge work.

During this time, University Avenue from Cedar Heights Drive to Hwy 63 will remain open and access to the frontage roads will remain. For safety purposes, please do not enter the construction area. It would be advisable to remain behind the sidewalk on the property side during the reconstruction work.
