Beginning Tuesday, July 6, 2021, the contractor will begin removal of the existing roadway on East 4th Street from Main Street to State Street in order to begin the underground utility work, including new water main and storm sewer. A full road closure will be required. Depending on the weather, the closure of these two blocks will be in effect for twelve (12) to fourteen (14) weeks, at which point the street will be reopened to traffic.
For safety's sake, please stay away from the fenced-off construction area. During the closure, temporary pedestrian access will be maintained by providing a fine-gravel walkway from each doorway to the temporary access walks.
