Beginning Monday, November 8, 2021, the City's contractor, PCI, will be closing down the Cedar Heights and Cedar Hill Intersection. In order for the contractor to begin, a full closure of intersection will be required. The closures for this phase will be in effect for approximately four (4) weeks, depending on the weather. The intersection will be reopened when paving is complete for access during the rest of winter. During the closure, access to Chadwick Road residences and businesses will be from the Chadwick Road Extension off of Greenhill Road.
East and Westbound traffic on Greenhill Road will be maintained throughout construction. Cedar Heights Drive traffic will be detoured around the intersection closure by posted detour signage on the following roadways: Viking Road, Prairie Parkway, Greenhill Road and University Avenue. Chadwick Drive will be open for business and residential access to Greenhill Road throughout the remainder of the project.
During the road closure, rural type mailboxes will be removed and temporarily relocated. The contractor will coordinate the location of the relocated mailboxes with the U.S. Postal Service. Normally, all mailboxes are relocated to the adjacent side streets. Once reconstruction is completed, the mailboxes will be returned to their original location. Please do not park adjacent to the relocated mailboxes. The residents will be responsible for removing any decorative attachments to the mailboxes and relocating any landscape plantings within the right-of-way. The contractor will be responsible for removing and temporarily relocating the mailbox and post only.
