This facility is staffed and open to residents during the months of October and November in the fall, and during the month of April in the spring. The facility is located in the 300 block of East Main Street in Cedar Falls. Hours of operation are from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and 8:00 am until 3:00 pm on Saturdays. Residents are allowed to bring brush, logs, leaves, garden waste, and grass clippings to this site. Brush and twigs are processed separately from the yard and garden waste.
Garbage and demolition material is not accepted at this site.
Wood chips and compost will be available to residents free of charge during normal operating hours. Residents are required to “load their own” so be sure to bring containers and shovels.
Leaf Vacuum Service
Cedar Falls residents have the option to utilize a “call in” leaf vacuum service. This service is offered during the months of October and November. Residents who are interested in this disposal option should pile their leaves directly behind the curb between the street and sidewalk for collection. Residents must then call the Public Works Department at 273-8629 to request the vacuum service. The cost for this service will be $50 per visit.
