Beginning the week of August 14, 2023, the contractor will begin reconstruction of the alley from West 12th Street to West 13th Street between Walnut Street and Iowa Street. In order for the contractor to begin, an alley and road closure will be required. The contractor is planning on starting with the West 13th Street crossing and then coming into the alley. The West 13th Street closing will be in effect for two weeks, and the alley closure will be in effect for five to six weeks, depending on the weather. Please see the closure area highlighted on the map below.
All refuse pick-up that is typically collected in the alley will now be picked up along either West 12th or West 13th Street at the locations shown on the map. The day for refuse pick-up will not change due to this project.
For safety's sake, please stay away from the construction area. Heavy equipment will be moving back and forth in the closed alley. It would be advisable to stay behind the sidewalk on the property side during the reconstruction work.
