Starting on Tuesday, January 2, the City's contractor, PCI, will be continuing with the Cedar River Recreational Project by building the three in-river structures on the downtown side of the river. For the contractor to start on the downtown side, the South Riverside Trail will need to be closed from the Main Street bridge to East 4th Street for construction equipment to access the river. Trail users will be detoured onto the sidewalk by way of East 4th Street and Main Street. The anticipated length of closure is six months until all in-river improvements and trail tie-ins are complete on the downtown side. Below you will find a map with the closure area highlighted.
For safety's sake, please stay away from the construction area. Heavy equipment will be moving back and forth on the closed sections of the trail and along the riverbank. If you have any questions or concerns during construction, please contact Matthew Tolan with the Cedar Falls Engineering Division at email@example.com or (319) 268-5164.
