[ARCHIVED] 48-Hour Parking Reminder

Due to the heavy snow fall this week the Cedar Falls Police Department would like to remind citizens that their vehicles need to be moved in order to keep the streets clear of snow. According to City ordinance, any vehicle that is parked on a city street in the same location for more than forty-eight hours is considered a parking violation and may be ticketed and towed. Excess amounts of snow around parked cars can create sight obstructions and is safety hazard for pedestrians and the traveling public.

Beginning Monday, January 11th, 2009, Cedar Falls Police will begin to ticket all vehicles parked on city streets that are in violation of the 48 hour ordinance. Vehicles that are not moved within 24 hours of being cited will be towed. The Cedar Falls Police Department would like to thank all citizens in advance for helping keep the streets safe and clear of snow.
