[ARCHIVED] 48-hours Parking Ordinance Enforcement to Begin Due To Recent Snow

The City of Cedar Falls wants to inform its residents that due to the recent snowfall, the 48-hour parking ordinance will be strictly enforced. This ordinance is designed to serve many purposes; one of which is to assist in the effort to remove snow from the streets. Vehicles cannot be parked in one location for more than 48-hours. Officers will be actively enforcing the ordinance by noting vehicles that have not been moved since Monday's snow. Vehicles in violation will be ticketed and the owner contacted to move the vehicle. If the vehicle is not moved upon the officer's request, the vehicle will be towed. Officers will begin issuing parking citations for the 48-hour violations on Thursday, January 24th at 6:30 AM.

Also, code enforcement officers are asking citizens to remove snow from their sidewalks, including corners if applicable. This is for the safety of pedestrians. If sidewalks are not cleared the resident could be fined
