[ARCHIVED] 48-Hour Paking Ordinance to be Enforced.

The City of Cedar Falls wants to inform its residents that due to the recent snowfall, the 48-hour parking ordinance will be strictly enforced. This ordinance is designed to serve many purposes; one of which is to assist in the effort to keep snow plowed from the streets. Vehicles cannot be parked in one location for more than 48-hours. Officers will be actively enforcing the ordinance by noting vehicles that have not been moved since Monday's snow. Vehicles in violation will be ticketed and the owner contacted to move the vehicle. If the vehicle is not moved upon the officer’s request, the vehicle will be towed. Officers will begin enforcement on Thursday, February 28th, 2008 at 6:00 AM.

The city is also asking residents to keep their sidewalks clear of snow to provide a safe environment for pedestrians.

Please call Cedar Falls Police for more information, 273-8612.
