How do I keep from becoming a victim of a fraud or identity theft?
First, you should not give out any of your personal information to anyone, especially over the phone. Second, do not have any personal information (social security number or date of birth) on your checks. Lastly, don’t leave personal items (checks, driver’s license, or social security number) where people have access to them.
